Angela and Annette Receptionists	The Team

Dr Clive Harden BDS, LL.B

Clive has been working in Hunts Cross since he qualified from Liverpool in 1978. Dentistry has come a long way since then, and with modern materials and technology we are now able to provide cosmetic treatments we could only have dreamt of back then.

Clive’s main interest in dentistry is restoring a nice smile, and seeing a happy patient. He has an interest in the design and replacement of teeth with dentures, and Clive regularly speaks at meetings around the country on these topics.

Outside the dental centre he is involved in the teaching of undergraduate dental and medical students.

Aside from dentistry you will often find Clive at Liverpool Airport following his other main interest aeroplanes!

Dr James Garside BDS

James joined our dental centre in 1998, after he qualified from Liverpool University.
He has worked with us ever since and became a partner soon after joining the practice. James has a wide range of interests but particularly enjoys the cosmetic side of dentistry. He has recently completed a training programme allowing him to offer Botox to our patients, so it is best to keep smiling when visiting James.

Outside the practice James is also involved in the teaching of medical and dental students.

James is a keen football player, and can often be found nursing the bruises he has gained playing the previous evening.

Dr Mike Horrocks BDS, MSc

Mike graduated from Liverpool in 1984, and has worked in the practice since then.
He has always had a special interest in endodontics, and gained a Masters degree from Manchester in this speciality. He works alongside James and Clive but limits his work to patients who require endodontic treatment.

He is also involved in teaching, and frequently can be found speaking at meetings in different parts of the country.

Like Clive he has a keen interest in aircraft, and is also often to be found at an air display.

Dr Peter Smyth BDS, MSc

Peter graduated from Dundee in 1992. Peter has a wide range of interests in Dentistry and gained an MSc in Prosthodontics from Manchester. Peter accepts referrals from other practices in the North West for some of the more complex work which many practices are unable to provide.

Peter also enjoys teaching , and is often found speaking to groups of dentists on a variety of topics. Information on Peters courses can be found at www.cheshiresmile.co.uk.

Dr Nilesh Javed  BDS, MSc

Nilesh is our most recent find, he lives in Manchester but despite this we still welcome him to work in Hunts Cross. Like Mike he limits his work to endodontics, and gained his Masters from Manchester University in this speciality. Outside of dentistry Nilesh is a bit of a petrol head as can be seen by the picture of him by the car he one day dreams of owning.

Hygienists

Jeff Bull

Jeff qualified in Hampshire, more years ago than he would care to admit. He was serving in the Royal Army Dental Corps, and has served in military hospitals around the world. He especially liked his time while in Germany and the Middle East. After he left the Army Jeff has worked in many practices, always looking for a practice where the role of prevention is foremost in the practice philosophy.

Jeff joined the Hunts Cross Dental Centre four years ago, where he has built up a loyal following of patients who now expect to see a hygienist as part of their dental health.

Outside the practice, Jeff is a keen Biker and you can always expect a long discussion on bikes if you show an interest. He is also a keen astronomer, presumably gained from looking at the sky when riding his bike.

Little known secret that Jeff is proud of, is that for a short time he was a professional jockey. If his riding is anything like his racing tips he is much better off as a hygienist.

Karen Hennigan

Karen is our newest member of the team. She joined us two years ago after she too qualified from Liverpool. Karen especially enjoys teaching and showing the young patients in the practice the benefits of good toothbrushing, and a good diet. She is always happy to spend as long as it takes to make sure that we all have a really healthy mouth.

Outside the practice Karen has many interests, and will always talk enthusiastically about them if asked.

The Team

On our reception we are pleased to  present Angela  on the left and Annette on the right, a reception area is only as good as the people who work on the “front line”, and we feel we have two of the most efficient friendly team members you could ever wish to meet.

Annette is the longest member of the whole team having started working at the practice when she left school 30 years ago. Annette enjoys talking and as she says being on the reception desk is the ideal job for her. Outside work Annette is a true Red and her seat cover was brought back from that memorable night in Istanbul in 2005.
Angela joined the practice what seems like only yesterday but was in fact three years ago. Angela has worked in other practices before joining us, but  she says we are the most friendly place she has ever worked in.  Outside work she tells us her interests are having a good time, sounds good to us!

The Rest of the Team

Joanne will shortly celebrate her first 10 years with the practice. She gained her qualification  11 years ago and works alongside James giving him advice and help when needed.
Helen has also been with the practice for many years, she recently gave birth to her first baby boy , we naturally allowed her a couple of weeks off after this event but she missed us all too much so is back working away doing the much needed paperwork for the practice
Emma joined us a couple of months ago. She works with Nilesh and therefore spends all her time doing endodontic treatment.  She qualified in 2006, and as she says she enjoys working at the practice as we all get on so well with each other. Outside work she just enjoys herself.
Hannah, works with Peter and is much admired by all who know her. Always ready to correct our mistakes, we would be lost without her happy smiling face in the morning.
Toni, newest member of the team. Joined the Practice in January of this year and has impressed us all with her hard work and desire to learn new things.  She is studying for her DCP qualification. Outside work  Toni has been a Majorette,  and is still a very keen dancer.
