Clinical Directors

Dr Clive Harden BDS, LL.B, PgDip

GDC registration number – 52548

Clive has worked in Hunts Cross since he qualified from Liverpool University in 1978. Dentistry has advanced a long way since then, and he has regularly attended educational courses to ensure his knowledge has kept pace with changing technology and and replacement ofmaterials. Clive’s two main interests in dentistry are giving people back the confidence in dentistry that a nice smile can bring, and the design teeth with dentures. Due to his in depth knowledge he regularly lectures to groups of dentists at meetings around the country.
He is involved in the teaching of medical and dental students at Liverpool University. Clive is always looking to further his knowledge and experience and is studying for a Masters degree in advanced restorative cosmetic dentistry.
Outside dentistry you will frequently find Clive at an airshow or an airport, following his other interest of aviation.

Dr James Garside BDS, PgDip

GDC registratin number – 74910

James is also a Liverpool graduate, a little more recent however having qualified in 1998. He joined the centre after qualification and has been here ever since. He has regularly attended many educational courses to ensure his knowledge is constantly updated. Some of these courses Centered on facial rejuvenation , which means we are the only practice in South Liverpool to be able to offer Botox and fillers(restylane) along with your normal dental work.
James also is involved with teaching medical students at Liverpool University. James is always looking to further his knowledge and experience and is studying for a Masters degree in advanced restorative cosmetic dentistry.
Outside dentistry James is a keen football player, but sadly will never make the Premier League!

Dentists

Dr Ben Harvey BDS, BSc

GDC registration number – 176923

We are pleased to bring Ben on board as part of our expanding team.
Ben qualified from Liverpool after having gained Honours We were not too sure how he would fit in at our practice as he is a Man United supporter but we hope to help him see the light.
His other interests also concerned us as he has a pet Scorpion. Still to look at you would never know these details and we are very pleased that Ben chose to come and work at Hunts Cross.in his final examinations. He has many interests within Dentistry,and as with Clive and James is very keen on cosmetic dentistry.

Hygienists

Catherine Jones DT

GDC registration number – 139264

As it says above Cathy is a dental therapist, this means that as well as providing the dental hygiene treatments in our practice Cathy can do a lot of other treatments as well. A truly invaluable team member.

Meet the Rest of the Team

A practice is only as good as all the team members who work in it. While your main contact is with the dentist, they would not be able to work without the excellent help and support they get from their supporting staff. In no particular order we would like to introduce you first to Joanne.

Joanne

GDC registration number – 152536

Has been at the practice for 13 years and qualified as a dental nurse 16 years ago. She has recently gained her radiography qualification from Liverpool dental hospital. Not content with that, she continued with further studies to gain a decontamination qualification. Joanne works with James giving him help and advise when needed.

Helen

GDC registration number – 161955

Helen has been with the practice for 12 years. Helen is now more behind the scenes doing the huge amounts of administrative work that a practice like ours needs. Helen has recently qualified and gained her radiography qualification at the Liverpool dental hospital. To say she is invaluable is an understatement. We just hope she doesn’t want any more maternity leave in the near future.

Toni

GDC registration number – 195349

Toni came straight from college and joined us in January 2007.We were all straight away very impressed with her attitude to work and the desire to work. Toni is currently studying for her oral health education qualification. Toni works with Clive providing invaluable help and support.

Annette

She is the longest serving member of the whole team, having been working there for just over 31 years. Presumably she enjoys her work, we certainly rely on Annette to keep us informed on the happenings in Hunts Cross. Annette is one of the first faces you see as she works in our reception area. Annette is a true “red”, so we all tread carefully on Mondays if the weekend results did not go Liverpools way.

Tracey

I joined the practice in July 2011 and have over 14 years experience incustomer service.My professional certificates include and NVQ 2 in customer service, Business Administration level 2, ECDL, ITQ and first aid in the work place to name but a few. I work alongside Annette on the reception team and pride myself on giving the best service possible making all our patients feel welcome.

Courtnay

Is the newest member of our team, she joined us in September 2011 and is currently training to gain her dental nurse qualification. She is very keen and willing to learn and has fitted well into the team.
