Full Mouth Disinfection

If your gum disease has been present for quite a long time then the initial stages of treatment are often best treated initially with a procedure called full mouth disinfection. This means exactly what it says, and involves a thorough cleaning and disinfection of your mouth. The difference is that the procedure is done all on one visit rather than over several visits as cleaning is often done. Studies have shown more success when carried out in this manner.
